Firestop Coatings and Compounds

Nelson Firestop FSC™ cable coating and FSC3™ joint coating are water based, fire protective coatings designed for labor saving spray applications. FSC cable coating is sprayed or brushed onto continuous runs of electrical power, communications and control cables to prevent propagation of fire. FSC3 joint coating is sprayed, brushed or toweled over mineral wool insulation packed within construction joints to provide a fire protective coating.

Nelson Firestop Compound (CMP™) is a cementitious material that is mixed with water and applied to penetrations and openings to provide a weather resistant, non-shrinking fire-rated seal. It is similar in appearance to mortar and can be troweled to a smooth finish.

FSC:

Cable coating to prevent propagation of fire along power, communications and control cables

FSC3:

Fire protective coating for wall to wall, floor to wall, floor to floor, head of wall and other construction joint applications where thermal expansion and contraction of joints may be encountered

CMP:

Mortar-like compound applied to penetrations and openings to provide a weather resistant, non-shrinking fire-rated seal
Tested for a wide range of penetrants including metallic pipes, cables and cable trays, as well as combustible penetrants such as insulated pipes
Ideally suited for medium to large openings filled with or without penetrants
