Threaded Rigid Conduit, IMC Nipples

These fittings are used to solve various problems in the installation of threaded rigid conduit or IMC. The 3-piece couplings enable conduit sections to be joined when neither section can be turned. Offset nipples provide box-to-box connections while compensating for misalignment of knockouts. Hex reducing bushings reduce a threaded conduit entry to a smaller trade size. Bushed conduit nipples can be used to connect boxes to conduit coupling, connect two boxes together or connect fixture housings to continuous runs.

Applications Features Catalog Numbers
  • Type 4 three-piece coupling: joins two sections of conduit when neither section can be turned
  • Type ON offset nipples: provide box-to-box connection of knockouts; allows misaligned knockout connection by “rolling” the offset nipple until aligned with each knockout
  • Type 300R hex reducing bushings: reduce a threaded conduit entry into a smaller trade size
  • Type 7 bushed conduit nipples:
  • Use through knockout to connect box to conduit coupling
  • Use with a locknut to connect two boxes side by side or back to back
  • Use with a locknut to connect fixture housings in continuous runs
