Control Techniques at Hannover Messe, 4th – 8th April 2011

At HANNOVER MESSE 2011, Control Techniques will be hosting two stands. On Stand H35, Hall 15 the latest in intelligent drive and motor solution technologies will be showcased including the new DC Source test rig for all types of hybrid and electric vehicles;  whilst Stand A10, Hall 16 will display the SPV range of transformerless central grid-tie inverters for Photovoltaic installations from 145kWp to 1.59MWp.

Control Techniques is having considerable worldwide success with its SPV product range because of its emphasis on maximum return on investment and availability with market-leading reliability, efficiency and yield.  SPV is constructed using 145kWp, 159kWp inverter modules, parallel-connected to produce any desired power ratings up to 1.59MWp.  The inverter designs are based on a mature industrial design and use a unique control methodology that enables switching of the inverters between standby and active states to match the instantaneous power available from the solar array, significantly enhancing both efficiency and plant availability.  SPV inverters achieve Euro and CEC weighted efficiencies of 97.6% as well as having inherently reliable modules that are tolerant to faults.

Control Techniques now offers a complete solution for testing all types of hybrid and electric vehicles.  The DC Source rig comprises an inverter that simulates the characteristics of the batteries and is used to power the electric traction system being tested.  A regenerative drive is then used to supply the drive system and a common DC bus to re-circulate the energy from the motors back to the supply, minimizing energy consumption and the supply.

The system uses the Unidrive SPM modular range of inverters to produce the DC power to drive the rig and to regenerate during braking – a straightforward solution using mass produced readily available components with full worldwide support.  The DC source is easily integrated into any standard control engineering system, available in voltages up to 700VDC, currents up to 2000ADC and powers up to 1.4MW.

Other Products displayed on Stand H35 will include:

  • Commander SK
  • Unidrive SP
  • Digitax ST
  • Unimotor fm
  • Unimotor hd
